About Us

In 2006  a group of people interested in producing interesting and educational documentaries and books began discussions focused on creating a new nonprofit oeganization to facilitate such creative work.  The group included Ed Isenberg and Mick Elliott of Avolux Media.  Isenberg who went on to direct our corn husking documentary and co-direct our Rock Island Prison documentary, and Elliott wrote the script for the corn husking documentary. Unfortunately, Elliott passed away at age 54 in 2009. Also in the discussion group were Joy Thompson and the Rosemans, Curtis and Elizabeth. In 2006 and 2007 a group of creative people was  assembled to form Heritage Documentaries. It was incorporated as a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization..

Since that time Heritage Documentaries has produced several; books and video documentaries, in addition to sponsoring various local programs. They tell stories of interesting people, places, and evnts, some based in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois; and most with broader regional or national importance.  Ours is a working board, each member contributing to the research, writing, editing, and/or production for one or more of our projects. Please view our work to get a sense of what we do, and don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments.
